In the Indianapolis south side over midnight, a single car crash led to the death of a South Indianapolis man while the other person got seriously injured, reported police officials.

The accident happened around 3:30 in the morning on Saturday. The collision occurred at Madison and South Eastern Avenue intersection. Per reports of the Indianapolis Metropolitan police department, the accident involved two men traveling in a black Chevrolet Malibu going southbound on Madison Avenue. Both men were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where the South Indianapolis man who was the passenger was pronounced dead. The driver of the car stays in critical condition as per the reports of IMPD on Saturday morning.

“It’s undetermined whether or not alcohol was a factor in this accident,” said the IMPD spokesperson Genae Cook. Further investigation is on the way.

Another similar accident occurred on Monday on the northwest side of Indianapolis. This was also a single-car crash, and a man was killed in the process.

This incident also happened over midnight around 2 am near the Georgetown and Lafayette Road intersection, South of IS 65. According to police reports, the accident involved a tan 2006 jeep SUV and the man driving the car was found dead at the scene of the accident.

On Monday morning later, police regarded speed to be the main reason for the car crash. No other information was released by the police. No other injuries were reported at the preliminary investigation as well. If the man behind the wheel was driving under influence is still unknown.
